About Our Caledonian Foundation

Scottish Culture

As you may or may not know, our Caledonian Club has a division known as the Caledonian Foundation. The Caledonian Foundation is a non-profit 50l(c)3 organization with the mission of supporting all aspects of Scottish culture — its heritage, music, visual and performing arts, and education.

The foundation was started in order to attain tax free status for funds raised and used for charitable purposes. In the past we have provided funds to purchase books and make videos for the Selby Library in Sarasota, establish a Sarasota Sister City tie with Dunfermline, Scotland, make improvements to the Sarasota Opera House and Aslo Theater. The foundation encourages suggestions for new projects. Inquiries and suggestions should be directed to the foundation president, Pauline Mitchell
